This is a personal academic website. It has no accounts, forms or comments, and I don’t ask you for any personal information.
Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics to count visits. It sets cookies in your browser and records which pages you view, which site referred you, your approximate location (such as country or city), and your device and browser type. I only look at aggregate reports, such as how many people read a page, and I don’t try to identify individual visitors. Google processes this data under its Privacy Policy; see also how Google uses information from sites that use its services. To opt out, you can block cookies for this site or install Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Search statistics. Google Search Console shows me which search terms led people to this site. These reports are aggregated and don’t identify anyone.
Hosting. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub logs visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes, as described in GitHub’s documentation and the GitHub Privacy Statement.
My analytics tool. I read these reports with a small private script that connects to Google Analytics and Search Console through Google’s APIs. It requests read-only access to my own Google account, isn’t offered to anyone else, and keeps the data on my own computer.
Email. If you email me, I use your message and address only to reply to you.
